There’s no denying that the secret to a glowing complexion lies on high-performance skincare. Exfoliants, facial masks and well-formulated moisturisers are some that many of us treasure and hold. Quite often, the skincare realm is over-packed with almost identical products. I can’t help but notice the fact that the majority of brands are all too similar for my liking. For me, I find this very boring and uninspiring, especially from a consumers point of view. If it wasn’t for different branding, product packaging and advertising, I would have struggled to tell the difference.
For most brands, they work hard on brainstorming ideas on what ingredients to include in their next product or collection release. Just like this one from Heaven Skincare that I’m about to share with you. Introducing an innovative cream that has been causing quite a stir in the skincare community. The Nettle Venom Anti-Ageing from Heaven Skincare.
Harnessing the natural lefty powers of British stinging nettles, Deborah Mitchell, creator of the original bee venom facial masks introduces a vegan-friendly alternative to the world.
“Creating the Nettle Venom Cream wasn’t easy, but after much trial and error, I came up with a formulation I was happy to put on the market and share”. “I wanted to develop a formula that wouldn’t cause any pain or discomfort on the skin” Deborah states.
Deborah always wanted to create a vegan-friendly version of her iconic, most talked about bee venom creams. Using non-chemically sprayed nettles near to where Deborah and her family lives. Handpicking each and everyone at the correct time of day to ensure each jar contains the most freshes, English nettles. For maximum performance and result.
How does this vegan alternative cream work in comparison to the Bee Venom creams? Well, quite simple and very similar. NETTATOXIN® the main ingredient causes a positive reaction to how a bee would sting the skin. The skin then goes into a rapid repair leaving you with a lifted, plumped skin appearance. Nettle naturally contains serotonin that desensitises and calms one’s skin.
Apart from Nettle, Deborah incorporated Lavender, Rose and Tea Tree Water to provide a purifying yet soothing action. There’s also comforting Shea Butter to nourish + moisturise the skin to a healthy state. Maple Syrup, on the other hand, acts as a lovingly antioxidant. This sweet, favourable syrup that we all adore on our freshly-made pancakes also helps to maintain skin’s elasticity.
After trialling the newly launched Nettle cream from Heaven Skincare. I am ready to give you my honest thoughts. Starting with the packaging, the frosted glass jar and on-trend bamboo screw-top lid is most certainly eye-catching. From a distance and close-up! The overall feel of the jar is a pleasure to hold. Experiencing a delightful scent of freshly-cut nettles as I unscrewed the attractive bamboo lid was a pleasant welcome. A memorable fragrance too!
Exhilarating, rich but never greasy, the Nettle cream cocoons the skin with balanced hydration and restoration. A slight, tingly but harmless sensation became presence as I applied a generous amount onto my face. Straight away, I was shocked to discover how the cream gave my skin a softer, less textured appearance. The Nettle cream can also be applied to targeted areas, such as laughter lines, frown lines and forehead furrows. This helps eradicate the noticeability of skin concerns. I like to apply a small amount onto my lips to give them a fuller, plumper appearance.
With frequent use, my skin adapted and that initial ‘tingly sensation’ became something of a past. I did miss that stinging feeling from the cream. However, the benefits were still very much visible from every application.
It’s a delight to see that the Heaven team have learnt that not everyone is fully accepting of using pure bee venom in their skincare products. I do genuinely believe that if you find a face cream that works for you and your skin type, stick with it. If you’re looking for a high-performance, organic, vegan cream that ticks all the correct boxes, this might be the one for you.
